Our Ministers...
Rev. Leah Light, Founding Minister & Director, Circle of Light Ministries. Her duties are to conduct meetings, classes, and to coordinate all church business. As an ordained minister, she has the power and authority to conduct weddings, funerals, and other ceremonies, and to ordain other ministers for these and other ministries they wish to pursue.
Rev. Leah completed a Spiritual Studies program with the Center for Healing Arts in Portland and was first ordained by the Church of Inner Light in 1992. She has been a spiritual counselor and has led meditation circles and healing classes for over 15 years. Leah Light is the published author of two inspirational books, We Are Becoming: Souls Evolving; and PIcking Up the Pieces: Becoming a Greater Whole, and is contributing author of a third book, 101 Great Ways to Improve Your Life, Vol. 2. Leah makes her home in Beaverton with her husband, Bruce Lilly. Her family also includes a grown son and daughter, and three grandchildren.
Reverend Laurel Neuber became a minister because she wanted to assist couples in declaring their love and committment to one another by performing a ceremony. As humans we all want to bond in some way with each other, and marriage is a legal commitment to this bond.
Rev. Laurel has been a member of Circle of Light Ministries (formerly known as the Universal Light Church) of Tigard, Oregon for five years and is ordained by CLM as well as by two other churches, ULC and Universal Ministries. In addition to this, she was trained as a Stephen Ministries lay counselor.
Laurel has a great love for couples and especially for children. For this reason, she completed a Masters Degree in teaching. She currently teaches in the Beaverton and Hillsboro School Districts and is raising her nine-year-old daughter. She thoroughly enjoys helping others to unite their love bond with a fitting ceremony of their choosing.
Rev. Lori Sarutzki
Rev. Lori is ordained by the Circle of Light Ministries. She has served in youth and music ministries with her home church, First Christian Church Disciples of Christ, and for New Thought Christian churches in this area. Lori holds a Bachelors of Communications degree and is a performer in local community theatre organizations.
As a licensed Massage Therapist, Rev. Lori understands the importance of promoting a congenial, calm energy on your special day. She provides a positive and memorable wedding experience, tailored to your needs.
Rev. Maureen Haley, Associate Minister
Rev. Maureen is ordained by Circle of Light Ministries (formerly known as Universal Light Church) as well as by Universal Ministries. She has been a member of our church for over five years and has participated in Rev. Leah's spiritual classes and groups for the past ten years. Rev. Maureen has gone on to build a thriving wedding ministry of her own. She is also lovingly known as "Auntie Mo," having originally created the Auntie Mo and Friends Newsletter, which helps people promote their services and events in the community.
Rev. Maureen's warm and caring manner shines through in everything she does.
Rev. Warren Nistad, Associate Minister
Since 1978 Rev. Warren has worked as a Holistic Health Therapist. Beginning as a massage therapist, he returned to school to obtain a Masters in Counseling, and then to seminary to obtain a Master of Divinity degree, all to facilitate working with body, mind and spirit. He has studied, trained in, and practiced many systems of energy healing, as well as shamanism. Since 1994 Warren has been known as a Spiritual Healer, working primarily with laying-on-of hands healing, and working especially with people with cancer. Rev. Warren believes that all healing, and indeed all life, is ultimately about love and loving, thus he is pleased and honored to be able to officiate at weddings, the ultimate public affirmation of love, as an ordained Circle of Light Minister.
